What are your hours? Do you ever close?

Technically speaking, no we never close. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! However, our staff does have to rest so we can provide the top-notch service that all of our members have come to love. Here is our breakdown of hours.

  • Monday – Friday our staff is onsite from 8 am to 6 pm (PST). However, depending on events, tours, or the occasional late nights we might be here after 6 pm.

Works Basic & Works +

  • Monday – Friday from 8 am to 6 pm (PST).

Open Desk, Exclusive Desk & Private Office

  • 24/7 & 365 days a year. After hours you will need a keycard or our mobile app which will give you access to the building.

How many locations do you have?

At the moment, our only location is in beautiful Downtown San Diego. However, don’t worry we have some plans up our sleeve come Q1 or Q2 2019.

Month-to-month? No way!

Yeah, believe it or not, we want to give you the power and flexibility to choose if you want to be on a month-to-month contract. We want to give you the tools necessary to grow your business and thrive in a positive environment. Unlike other spaces, we want to help you. Our founders hate lengthy contracts themselves that are filled with all these terms and conditions, so they decided to put the power in your hands.

We will tell you this, all we require is a 30-day notice.

If you are interested in a longer-term commitment, we do offer discounts. Ready to take advantage of these discounts? Call us at 619-535-9675 or email us at info@downtownworks.com!

How pet friendly are you?

We hope this answers your question.

dogs Coworking Space San Diego

We love all pets, but we do have a pet policy! Get in touch with us and we’ll go over it with you.

Should I Make an Appointment Or Just walk in for a tour?

If you’re flexible, we’re flexible. We obviously prefer you schedule one in advance to ensure that there isn’t something crazy happening, but we know things change and stuff comes up.

If you would like to see our availability and schedule one in advance you can click on the “Schedule a Tour Today” button on the lower left-hand side of the webpage. You can also give us a call at 619-535-9675 and we can schedule it for you.

If you’re in the area or just want to surprise us, just come on in and we will take care of you!

What is the average square footage of an office?

Contrary to popular belief, we do not base our pricing off of square footage.

We designed our space with office size in mind. We don’t want to cram you into an office like some of our competitors, we want to give you the freedom to move around. Our 4 person offices are for 4 people and our 2 person offices are for 2 people.

Apart from your office or desk, you have 20,000 sq ft to move around and work on 3 floors & and a rooftop deck.

I need a company phone. Do you provide those?

Great question! You have two options when it comes to phones.

  1. If you have a VoIP phone already, you can bring it with you and use it in our space. In order to use it, there are some additional configurations needed so please email our support team and they can let you know what you need to do.
  2. We can provide you with a brand new fully equipped VoIP Polycom VVX 410 and a phone number for just $50/month. Included is tech support, phone rental, unlimited domestic calling, reduced international call rates, and more.

Already have a phone number and just want a phone? We can help with this too, please email our support team.

How do you deal with mail?

This is another great question! We’ll keep this answer short and sweet.

In short, the only plans that have a mailbox and business address included are our exclusive desk and private office plans.

If you have a Works Basic, Works Plus or Open Desk you can add mail and package handling for $50/month. Unfortunately, if you do start sending mail here with these plans (by law) we have to return to sender.

For those needing just a business address and a mailbox, we do have a Virtual Office plan that is $95/month. We also offer mail & package forwarding for an additional cost.

Working at Downtown Works is not about having someplace to work, it is about having a community. Aside from the beautiful and functional environment, the staff at Downtown Works is what sets this co-working space apart from any other. They are not about rules, regulations and corporate compliance, but rather comfort, productivity and growth. The environment promotes success and creativity. No matter your profession, you become part of the team. The staff goes above and beyond to promote business growth and connections between other members. This San Diego workplace reflects what San Diego is all about, work hard, play hard and soak up the positive vibes!

Self-Employed Copywriter + Yoga Teacher

Downtown Works offers more than a community of driven, like-minded entrepreneurs and businesses. It’s a breathtaking space that makes you want to come in and get to work. As a copywriter, this is key to creating great work for my clients. The natural light and views inspire my brain in ways a coffee shop doesn’t! The team also provides a variety of tools and resources, like weekly lunch & learns for continued learning and ongoing events. They encourage new ideas and concepts, like the yoga sessions I now get to lead here. (Yes, there a lot of members with multiple interests and projects at DW!) On a final note: The people are fantastic. Them – and the coffee + latte machine.

Downtown Works not only offers an amazing, modern space, but the staff are extremely helpful and always available and willing to help. Downtown Works is the only co-working space nearby my house that has event space large enough to host one of our monthly event series. It makes it really convenient for me since I don’t have to host events off-site and can have them right in the same office space. My organization also hosts many committee meetings, and Downtown Works has a variety of conference rooms large enough to accommodate our group. As the only full-time employee of my organization, being able to work out of a co-working space is a great opportunity to be surrounded by passionate, hard-working individuals. I wasn’t looking for a co-working space for networking, but to my surprise, I’ve made quite a few connections in the space that I’ve been able to work or collaborate with which is really great.

Lead With The Lights On

I love Downtown Works for so many reasons. Not only is it a beautiful place to bring clients, the community there is filled with movers and shakers who want to see you succeed. It’s a refined group of success driven people with staff that are so attentive to our needs, supportive of our goals and fun to chat with. We love the variety of events there and the opportunities being a community member has provided us.

WIT (Whatever It Takes)

DW is the perfect place for WIT because of the focus on community, collaboration and connection. WIT has already worked with other companies and individuals at DW, which is exactly what I was hoping for when we made the choice to move to DW. We didn’t want just an office, we wanted a community, and that’s what we have found at DW.    I met one of the founders at a dinner and when described what they were creating, I was intrigued. I was familiar with all the other cowork spaces in San Diego and none of them were a fit for WIT. When I came for a tour (when it was still a construction site), I was blown away by the space/design. I was also really interested in the type of community the founders were committed to creating. I’m happy to say that DW has exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a space that would be more than just an office. WIT is a company based on community and collaboration, so I wanted to find a cowork space that also valued those things – DW does and so do the people who office out of DW.
